Next Time You Fail…

We all have those days when all seems to go wrong. To not get out of bed at all would have been a far better option on that particular day. I know I fit into this category.

And that’s why I had a big smile on my face as I browsed through the The FAIL Blog. The concept of this blog is simple and brilliantly funny and uplifting to those having a crappy day.

With the cow one, I’m not being rude - just totally sympathetic

Beef Jerky

Being a sales rep, I travel around a fair bit. I’ve only recently discovered beef jerky. Every time I went to a petrol station (yeah I know, you Yanks call them gas stations) I saw these horrible looking dry pieces of meat in air vacuumed packs and almost dry reached every time I saw them.

The other day, I bit the bullet and actually bought a pack. I must have been delirious from all the driving and totally over Mentos and Crunchie bars. I hesitantly opened the pack, took a sniff and wondered why on earth I bought this stuff.

But in my travels, I got hungry and the only edible things was this dried out beef. So I jerked open the pack (pun intended) and cautiously placed a piece in my mouth. I eat my meat medium raw so to put a piece in my mouth hard as a bone was freaky!

But as my saliva mixed with the jerky, a metamorphic experience occurred and this hard jerky turned into soft meaty mush. And it was delicious! And I’m lead to believe, quite nutritious! Well at least after my sugar highs with Mentos and Crunchies!

So I became a fan and these days, I actually check out the jerky’s and pick and chose from among the different brands and flavours. So you can imagine the smile the following video’s brought to my face when I saw them on YouTube today.

Jack Links is a brand I have no idea about. But their adds on YouTube cracked me up. You guys in the US probably have seen these already, but me, as an Aussie, haven’t seen them before and I thought I would post them here to remind myself to have a laugh.

In this age of political correctness, these adds shine through with humour and wit. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Weekly Video Laugh

To keep things sane a little here, I’ve decided to add a weekly, or close enough to it, video clip that I find amusing.

This week, I joined a group on Facebook where the owner is trying to sign up 1,000,000 people who dislike Bush. Well if you’ve been following my blog, you would understand any lack of hesitation in joining up.

Bush is a neocon thug. What exactly are the neocons trying to preserve? Big government, big business and big foreign policies to protect the first two “bigs”.

So I checked out the video’s posted and found heaps of funny stuff. I have added two below for your viewing pleasure.

For the record, I don’t bash Bush cause he is a Republican and I’m a Democrat. I’m an Aussie and am far removed from the typical debates raging in the US. I dislike him mainly due to his Foreign Policy’s.

As a guy outside the US, it is sickening to see American Foreign policy unravel itself in the “National Interest” of itself and to the detriment of all others. And Bush and his neocon worldview has taken this approach to a new and sickening level.

Really Dumb People

By now, you must live on the moon if you haven’t seen the stuff up at the recent Miss Teen USA 2007. Poor little Miss South Carolina exposed the level of intelligence of people who probably focus more on themselves in the mirror then educating themselves on the rest of the world.

For you moon dwellers, here is the clip…

But to show that that being dumb isn’t necessary owned by the blonde bimbo’s gracing our screens at so called beauty pageants, have a look at this guy. He may have been blonde when he was younger. But by the time he graced “Who Wants To Be a Millionaire” in France, this seemingly intelligent guy was in his 50’s or 60’s and hair color is becoming hard to determine.

And to think that 58% of the crowd voted for “sun” shows that this guy wasn’t alone in being dumb either!

As an Aussie, I love to pick on you Americans for being particularly dumb. Now I need you to realize that this is all tongue in cheek. The US is a land of contrasts and I see humanity’s best and worst coming out from the same continent. So without further ado, here are some examples at the dumbness that comes out of the US.

Here are a bunch of Aussie’s confusing the geographic daylights of you Americans…(just excuse the French on one of those interviewed - foul mouth)

The so called “War on Terror” being raged from the US upon the world. You’d think that most US citizens would be well versed on what’s going on huh? Think again…

Oh we Aussie’s like to stir up you Yanks. It’s just so much fun. Sure I know that our country was first populated by convicted criminals for such heinous crimes such as stealing a loaf of bread to feed your starving family. But it’s just so hilarious to see so much crap come out from the world’s “Super Power”.
