Do you really want to go to heaven? Is this a place you want to bust you butt on earth walking in faith only to end up sitting on a cushion cloud wearing a diaper while your wings get tangled in the harp you’re playing? And doing this forever! And ever and ever….
Nope - I’ll pass thanks. Heaven, as portrayed by many Christians, sounds like a dump. I’d be bored in 5 seconds in that kind of heaven. Thankfully, this warped perspective of Heaven is based on mankind’s warped thinking. But my buddy, the Apostle Paul, was inspired by God’s Spirit when he quoted the words of Isaiah…
“What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,
nor the heart of man imagined,
what God has prepared for those who love him”
So thankfully, whatever man thinks about heaven is kind of way off the mark. Phew!. This is good news for me. After watching the following clip, you would under stand why..
This kind of presentation makes Christian’s look a little whacky if you ask me. Sure it may have been relevant back in the 50’s or 60’s - and yes there is a lot of truth in what’s spoken. But the way it was delivered back then makes no sense to the way we are now.
I do love, however, the imagery given in Revelation 21 on the physical dimensions of the place! It freaks me out to fathom what this kind of place will look like. So I can safely ditch the “cloud in diapers” view - who on earth came up with that in the first place!
To me heaven is not the end goal. There are so many interpretations about heaven. Do we spend eternity in heaven or on a new earth? Does heaven descend onto earth? Is heaven a place where you have lots of time? Or the question that should be asked is, “what’s it like to have no time? There is no yesterday, no tomorrow - just now!”
Nah, to me, these things aren’t that important. What is important is that Jesus will rule in eternity. Whether He does this in heaven or on a new earth, is of secondary importance to me. I know it will blow me away beyond my wildest expectations because my carnal mind cannot fathom spiritual realities.
My biggest motivation lies in the following scripture found in 1 Corinthians 13. I will know things a lot better only once, because of Jesus, I am there.
For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.

Excellent post on heaven. I feel like people get so tripped up in this stuff sometimes… along with what exactly the end times will look like. As a parent I know if my children started asking a thousand questions about all we were going to do this week I could never explain it all to them in a way they would understand. Like today for instance, we went to a parade. They had never been to one so i would have had to start from scratch trying to find words to articulate it… It wouldn’t work and would be a waste of time. WHat i really want from them is for them to trust me that when I say we are going to a parade and they will love it- they will… How much MORE does God have for us as he can love us much deeper and his blessings are far greater than a parade… He is good, wherever it is we are going to be with him. None of this world crap getting in the way. We are gong to be full and complete in the presence of our maker. No more cancer, no more depression, no more murder, rape, suicide, insest, gossip, abuse, infidelity, betrayal… etc. Praise God. He is so good.
Thanks for a interesting blog - excellent articles on it. I really appreciate the one about heaven - I can not say more except : Amen!!!
Wow! What an eye opener. Thanx, beautiful blog! We put our focus on what heaven is going to look like etc etc. When we’re supposed to think about being with God.
