Joost, the Internet start-up created last year by the two co-founders of Skype, has just been launched commercially and it will feature programs from Turner Broadcasting and Hasbro among others.
Ianus Friis and Niklas Zellstrom, the two co-founders of Skype and the masterminds behind P2P sharing network Kazaa, initially named their endeavor The Venice Project, to later transform it into Joost (which should be pronounced juiced). The application uses the same principle as Kazaa or Skype, delivering content through the peer-to-peer technology.
After signing distribution contracts with giants like Viacom, CBS or Reuters, Joost recently announced that media behemoth Turner will also distribute some of its content freely on the Joost network, including channels like Adult Swim and CNN. Programming from Hasbro, the National Hockey League (NHL), Sports Illustrated (SI) and Sony Pictures Television (SPT) will also be available by the end of May.

Rest assured I got your comments. I will not approve them to protect your emails from being spammed. I’ve got about 40 requests and I will honour them all. Problem is, I live in Australia and it’s time for me to shoot off to work.
I posted this late last night - around 1:30am. To the ones who responded right away, they got an invite. To the rest of you, I’ll approve you when I get back today. It’s a bit of a tedious process to invite people as you have to do it one by one.
